The Village Co.
World’s Biggest Meat Raffle.
ANZAC Day 2020 was coming up. The country was in lockdown, and I was sitting at home not really knowing what the hell was going on. In the middle of all that uncertainty, I got the chance to write this script for The Village Co.’s World’s Biggest Meat Raffle, a national campaign with one clear goal: break a Guinness World Record by raffling off 10,000 meat trays across the country, all while lifting spirits, backing local butchers, and raising funds for veteran mental health charity Swiss 8.
With the legendary Sam Kekovich front and centre, we called on Aussies to jump online, grab a raffle ticket, and support our veterans at a time when ANZAC Day gatherings weren’t an option.
The video was picked up and shared by politicians, local butchers, community groups and everyday Aussies, spreading through inboxes and social platforms across the country. It was a true Aussie way to bring people together, even while stuck apart, and get in the ANZAC spirit.
